Get Lost in Sand Dunes: West Shore Beach, Llandudno

Updated: Mar 25

West Shore beach in Llandudno provides a serene escape from the bustling energy of North Shore and Llandudno town centre, attracting locals, holidaymakers, and their four-legged friends. This sandy beach offers a perfect setting for leisurely strolls and the opportunity for your dog to run, play and paddle. The beach offers picturesque views of Conwy Bay and Mountains. During low tide, the expansive stretch of sand becomes a playground for kite-flyers and kite-surfers, sun seekers, sand castle builders and picnickers. Although there are some small areas of restriction for dogs during the summer months, there is still PLENTY of beach for you and your dog to enjoy.

west shore beach is dog friendly

The great news is certain parts of West Shore Beach, Llandudno, are dog friendly all year round. Other parts have a dog ban between 1 May to 30 September, but this shouldn’t put you off as there is still PLENTY of beach space for your pooch!

The best area for dogs, in my opinion, and where they can be let loose is the left side of it. It’s got a vast amount of space, a walkway and is slightly less touristy than the centre and the right-hand side of the beach with the promenade, and playground for children.

On the left-hand side, if your dog likes to explore and is adventurous, they can also pay in the sand dunes.
