The Pavillion sits on the Llanfairfechan promenade right next to a beach that is dog friendly all year round. It’s full of tasty cheap eats from fresh-made soup to paninis and all-day breakfast choices. To top that off, it also has a licensed bar, so if you fancy a drink with your lunch you can get that from this café.

Unfortunately, dogs aren’t allowed inside, but there are plenty of outdoor tables and picnic benches and the café often lay out bowls of water for visitors with dogs. In terms of shade for your pooches, on sunny days, try and get a bit picnic bench as there is plenty of space for them to sit under it and stretch out in the cool. You’ll find a lot of the time, on warmer days, everyone prefers to sit outside anyway. Whether that’s on a table, picnic bench or sitting on the promenade walls looking out across the beautifully clean beach and sea with a cup of tea in hand.

Ordering food is simple enough, you order at the counter inside and receive a beeper with a number on, when your food is ready simply wave when you see the server and they’ll bring your food right over.

Because our doggy friends can’t sit inside, this is definitely one you’d want to do in the summer or a dry winter day (wrapped up warm), but it has such a good community vibe to it that it’s definitely worth a visit. Also, as well as treating yourself an ice cream, you can get one for your pooch too as they sell a dog-friendly version.

Where is Llanfairfechan?

Llanfairfechan is a small village beach resort with colourful houses along the bay, it has beautiful hillside walks and a vast blue flag beach, it’s just off the North Wales express and a great stop off while you’re on your way to the biggest tourist destinations like Anglesey. It’s great for doggy and family days out.

Top tips

If you’re visiting during the holiday season, try visiting a bit later e.g. 2pmish, the crowds die down massively by then

Take some time to explore the beach and the other parts of the Llanfairfechan promenade
