A dog friendly waterfall walk in Llanberis

If you’re looking for a scenic outing with your pup, look no further than Ceunant Mawr Waterfall (also known as Llanberis Falls) in Llanberis, Wales. This beautiful and striking waterfall is located in Snowdonia National Park and is one of Wales’s best-known waterfalls. The waterfall is situated in the stunningly picturesque outskirts of Llanberis town centre and is super easy to access - probably one of the easiest to access in Snowdonia.

Here it is on a map to show you how close it is to the town.

How to get to Llanberis waterfall, snowdonia

The concrete path leading to the falls is an easy ascent, walkable for both families and pups - be aware, although a quiet road it’s important to keep to the sides as the odd car does drive by. However, you can easily take your pup along the path, stopping along the way to marvel at the spectacular countryside views in every direction. Once you make it to the waterfall, you’ll enjoy its captivating beauty And gentle roar that cascades down as two stages into a wooded gorge.

When you finish admiring the waterfall, you can follow the path back down to your next destination or explore more of the valley.

So, if you love waterfalls and would like to go slightly off the beaten track while on a visit to Llanberis, Ceunant Mawr Waterfall is perfect. We do recommend taking time in Llanberis to see some of the other attractions though as the walk doesn't take much time.

What’s great about this waterfall is it is accessible year-round, so you can visit any time of year and make fantastic memories with your four-legged friend. We especially like to visit in the winter when the falls are roaring and you don't see many other people.

Can you swim or paddle near the falls?

Sadly not, but you can paddle at the Llyn Padarn nearby (blog coming soon).
